as posted by the channel"They came to riot downtown," said Coeur d'Alene Police Chief Lee White. During Pride Month this year, a group known as the “Patriot Font” had planned a direct action against the pride parade in the city’s center. This was not a simple counterprotest or anything of the sort, these men assembled in order to create violence and chaos…because gay people.
Fortunately, while this murder of white men were assembling at a nearby staging area, a local concerned citizen took notice of their masks, shields, and the piling into a U-Haul, and called the police. The 31 members who were arrested came from 11 different states, some traveling hundreds of miles, in order to harass and do violence against this small town pride parade.
This is not the first time this groups has explicitly targeted the queer community: in 2021 it defaced a local pride mural, and enjoys taking down BLM flags. Obviously this attempted riot is quite the escalation from that. Large groups of disaffected white men, who are bored but have access to a bit of capital, and are extremely online, are rapidly turning into the most radicalized and dangerous threat to everyone who exists outside the cis-white heteronormative system.
