as posted by the channelThere has been a lot of bad news lately, but you can oftentimes find some hope, or humor, in the ways that people react to tragedy. Have you seen any stories recently that offered a ray of sunshine? If not, here were a few that caught our eye.
In Texas, a woman was pulled over for driving alone in an HOV (a highway lane that is dedicated to cars with more than one person in it). When confronted, she told the police that she was pregnant, and since they were in Texas, that her fetus counted as a passenger and therefore she wasn’t breaking any rules. Well played! She still got the ticket.
In Ohio, an unnamed hero mailed 25 Republican lawmakers feces. The letters contained no direct explanation for why the doo doo was sent, so it’s not exactly clear why these politicians received it, but given the draconian abortion laws in Ohio and the awful AG’s response to a 10 year old being raped and forced to cross state lines to get an abortion, we can imagine why.
In Sri Lanka, protesters stormed the presidential palace and went for a swim in his pool. The president was forced to flee, and has now stepped down, but this pool party direct action just felt like the icing on the uprising’s cake.
