The Bitchuation Room was joined this week by LaTosha Brown, community organizer, political strategist, consultant, and the co-founder of the voting rights group Black Voters Matter, to give us some insight into how things are shaping up for Black voters nationwide.
In the United States, Democracy is basically on the ballot in 2022, but it isn’t necessarily the number one issue on people’s minds. As usual, most people are worried about how much more precarious their lives have become, and how basic goods are starting to feel more and more like luxuries as things get more expensive and shortages are more common.
While it has been positive to see Joe Biden taking action to address student debt, which absolutely has a racial justice component to it, more relief is needed. Beyond that, it has been incredibly disappointing and demoralizing that Democrats haven’t been able to defend and expand voting rights.
