Is COVID No Longer An Emergency?

Have you had COVID recently? What was your experience like? COVID is “over”, and by over, we mean that no one is wearing masks anymore and the government basically says everything is fine. Please get back to work and stop coughing so loudly.

Meanwhile elites at Davos have special filtration equipment everywhere to improve ventilation, as well as mandatory PCR tests and vaccines, proving there’s an understanding among the capitalist class that there are ways to combat COVID while maintaining some normalcy. It also underlines the reality that these life saving infrastructure investments and basic levels of mutual aid and respect, are just burdensome and the common folk aren’t worth the expense.

Slowly but surely, even the limited protections afforded to us during the early pandemic response are going away. Free testing sites are slowly dwindling, as is the federal money that had previously made free the vaccine and other remedies and tests.
