as posted by the channelThe United States has a lauded history of famous leaks from the imperial managerial class; From Daniel Ellsberg stealing classified materials about the war in Vietnam from his day job at the RAND corporation, to Edward Snowden stealing material about mass warrantless surveillance of Americans by the national security state. The Discord Leaks, or whatever they’re called, are not exactly an act of conscience.
This time the leaker is 21 year old Jason Texeira, an Air National Guardsman from Massachusetts. He has been charged with two criminal counts related to leaking classified national security documents to a small Discord server made up of young men who met on the YouTube channel of a guy who makes videos about military hardware. His main motivation appears to have been to gain credibility in the eyes of the two or so dozen younger guys in the server when they weren’t giving him enough attention.
