Do you think Taylor Swift will endorse Biden?
Right now, the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the history of the world faces two existential threats: refugees and billionaire pop star Taylor Swift. That is, if you ask a Republican.
As Taylor Swift’s crossover appeal has deepened with her latest relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, right wing media has been in an uproar about how popular she is and the possibility she may endorse Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election later this year.
Somehow, we’ve ended up in a universe where a monogamous relationship between a famous pro football athlete and a wealthy blonde white pop star is a threat to conservative values. Big shrug. Conservatives have gone so far as to say that Taylor and Travis are a psyop, somehow being orchestrated by a president who they say is also too sleepy and too old.
In the past, Swift has indeed supported Democrats, specifically speaking out for abortion rights and endorsing Marsha Blackburn's democratic challenger, Phil Bredesen, in Tennessee in 2018. Swift also endorsed Biden back in 2020 when everyone was doing it.
But do her actions warrant this freak out?
