Is Biden too old or too forgetful to serve?
Francesca and Matt Lieb discuss Biden’s memory on the latest episode of The Bitchaution Room. Last week, when Biden was supposed to speak at a press conference in which he assured voters he’s competent, he mixed up the President of Mexico and the President of Egypt.
An investigation into Joe Biden over his mishandling of classified documents declared that his actions were not intentional. Rather they were the work of “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” Is that the worst thing you could say about him? But Biden took offense.
"My memory is fine," the President responded last week. Biden and his allies have called the report biased and “clearly politically motivated."
Biden’s memory issues have been a big conversation the last few weeks as the Democratic and Republican primaries heat up and it's clear that it will once again be Biden (age 81) and Trump (age 77) in the general. Additionally, last week, a Trump-appointed special counsel cast doubt on Biden’s mental acuity, showcasing his forgetfulness including his fuzzy recollection of the timing of his late son Beau’s death from cancer.
