How Did UCLA Let Outside Agitators Brutalize Students?

Why were counterprotesters allowed to attack the Palestine solidarity encampment at the end of April? Turns out that the chancellor, administration, and all law enforcement allowed it to happen even though violent tension had been building for days.

Agitators, who included Proud Boys, Trump supporters, and dozens of pro-Israel students from other schools, descended onto the UCLA campus looking for a fight. They sprayed bear mace at protesters, shot fireworks into their encampment, and used sticks and other weapons to attack them. The result was 150 students suffering injuries and multiple hospitalizations, including one who needed 14 stitches in their skull and another whose entire hand was shattered. Not a single counter-demonstrator responsible for the violence has been arrested.

UCLA History professor Robin D.G. Kelley joined Francesca to explain what went down at UCLA and the university’s long record of allowing outside Zionist organizations to spy on the students who dare speak up for Palestine. He explains how the bad faith congressional hearings led by Republicans on antisemitism are designed to more broadly undermine higher learning especially when it comes to ethnic, race and gender studies. This is a Trojan horse campaign and so many Democrats are playing into it.
