It’s no secret that Trump wants to be a dictator. His regime has been in open defiance of the rule of law and our constitution since inauguration day. Trump and Sec of State Rubio has also been palling around with the pariahs of the world, with Nayib Bukele being his favorite homeboy recently.
Right now, Trump has been targeting immigrants for these illegal deportations to El Salvador, but we know he also wants to do this to U.S. citizens. And it seems that Trump may be looking to Bukele for inspiration as to how he can silence journalists.
Al Jazeera English did a report on El Salvadoran journalist Victor Barahona, who was imprisoned for over a year by Bukele’s regime. He was never accused officially of a crime, and never stood trial. He was simply told he was under arrest due to a declaration of emergency by the government, and was sent to a maximum security prison where he thought he would die. This is the future that Trump wants for America.
