as posted by the channelThe hits keep coming for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and yet he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. We now know that not only did he include his wife and brother on a war plans group chat from his personal phone, but used unsecure internet channels as well.
Hegseth and the entire right-wing propaganda ecosystem is blaming “disgruntled staff” for leaking the intel, focused more on how the media found out and not the substance of this insane security protocol breach. But upon closer look, Politico finds that Hegseth’s Pentagon is just a vipers nest of bros, all trying to stab one another in the back Game of Thrones style.
In particular, chief of staff Joe Kasper who finally resigned in shame, was allegedly unprofessional and toxic in his role. Including berating staffers and openly discussing his bowel movements. Lots of signs point to him leaking the info on Hegseth in order to get others fired. Which he succeeded in doing. The whole Pentagon feels like Animal House, but a lot less fun. As they say, the fish rots from the head down, and these are the idiots Hegseth chose to surround himself with. Needless to say active duty and other officials must feel pretty betrayed by this cast of buffoons.
