7:21Now PlayingThis really happened: detained Venezuelan migrants used their bodies to spell out SOS at a Texas detention center.
Drone footage from the Bluebonnet detention center in Anson, Texas just came out, and it is bone chilling. Thirty one Venezuelan migrants being held there lined up to spell “SOS” for the Reuters drone flying overhead. This facility is being used to house migrants who have been kidnapped under Trump’s illegal invocation of the Alien Enemies Act. For now, Trump’s efforts to send these men to CECOT in El Salvador is being blocked, but conditions at Bluebonnet are not much better.
According to reporting from Reuters, the men take turns sleeping so that they can alert their families if ICE tries to deport them. They are given very little food to eat, so they try to sleep as much as possible to stave off the hunger. All of this is happening to men who haven’t committed any crimes, but ICE still calls them gang members despite having zero evidence. If Democrats ever regain power, the Alien Enemies Act needs to be gone!
