President Trump is a con artist, so naturally he would be taking part in the biggest scam of his era: Crypto. Trump launched his meme coin $TRUMP before taking office, and raised his net worth by billions. To reward all the crypto sycophants and bad actors who bought in on his scam, Trump served what was reportedly a very unappetizing dinner. Apparently $55,000 to $40 million only gets you inedible filet mignon and a side of school lunch quality mashed potatoes.
While it is hilarious that these crypto bros spent so much money on this scam, the bigger story here is the blatant corruption. Trump is quite literally selling presidential access and favors through this meme coin. Guys like Justin Sun, a Chinese crypto billionaire, are buying into this. Yes, the same Justin Sun who was under investigation by the SEC for making fake trades to bolster his wealth. Oh, and by the way, those charges were dropped after his investment. Now he's an advisor to Trump’s new coin exchange! The corruption is completely out in the open.
