The Trump regime is exploiting Charlie Kirk’s murder to foment even more violence against the left. But the truth about Tyler Robinson doesn’t fit into their narrative.
MAGA is taking a page out of the fascist playbook by turning the murder of Charlie Kirk into an excuse for even more violent crackdowns. Before there was even a suspect in custody, they immediately went on a full court blitz, blaming the attack on left wing ideology and trans people. We now know that the alleged murderer, Tyler Robinson, is a 22 year-old white male. And yet, that hasn’t stopped the right’s insistence that the left and trans people are to blame.
The truth is the motivations of Robinson are not as clear cut as the right wants you to believe. According to new reporting from Ken Klippenstein, Robinson appears to have been a deeply online kid who was more apolitical and nihilistic than anything else. The real story here is how we have failed to provide the next generation with any hope for their futures. Instead, we have provided them insanely easy access to guns. The results speak for themselves.
