With the New York City Mayoral election coming up next week, the Mamdani haters have launched all out Islamophobic attacks against him. Mamdani’s response to this has been truly amazing. Chris Robbins of the Hell Gate NYC blog joined Francesca to talk about the desperate attempts to smear Zohran.
Zohran’s opponents can’t beat him on policy, since no one else in this race has any policies that actually help working New Yorkers. So in typical fashion, they have turned to Islamophobia.
Beret aficionado and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa implied that Zohran supports “global jihad’. Andrew Cuomo released, and then quickly took down, an absolutely wild AI generated ad that claimed Mamdani would make things like domestic abuse and drunk driving legal, among other gross attacks. But Mamdani’s response to all this hatred was beautiful. He said, “To be Muslim in New York is to expect indignity. But indignity does not make us distinct — there are many New Yorkers who face it. It is the tolerance of that indignity that does,”
