Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made an appearance on Turning Points USA and said some wild stuff. None more so than saying that Charlie Kirk’s death was the domestic terror version of 9/11. Yes, the most famous terror attack in modern history that killed over 3,000 people and launched the war on terror that completely destabilized an entire region of the Earth, is the same as… one podcaster being shot.
What Bessent means of course is how the U.S. is reaction to Kirk’s murder: by criminalizing Americans. All of this is part of MAGA’s efforts to put an end to free speech for the left, and Scott gives up the game in this TPUSA interview. He specifically called out the “violence” of the left during pro Palestine protests. Funny, because the only violence I remember was from pro Israel provocators and the police? Not only that, but Bessent claimed that the protests were funded by nonprofits because they all had similar signs. Well then, it would surely seem like every Trump rally is funded by nonprofits as well, Scott.
