Not only has he ordered illegal drone strikes against fishing boats in the Caribbean, he is ordering double taps on any survivors. Jose Vasquez, the executive director of Common Defense, joined Francesca to discuss Hegseth’s doubling down on war crimes against Venezuela.
As the U.S. has been threatening war against Venezuela, Pete Hegseth has carried out 20 drone strikes against fishing boats accused of being “narco terrorists”. Eighty people have been killed with no due process, so this is straight up murder. But now we are learning that Hegseth may have fully committed a war crime. In September of this year, there were 2 survivors of one of these strikes. According to people directly involved in the operation, Hegseth ordered them to “kill everybody.” Turns out, you can’t do that, Pete!
Hegseth wasted no time throwing one of his admirals under the bus. In a recent tweet, Hegseth said it was Admiral Mitch Bradley who made the decision to hit the survivors with a second strike. But if you were beginning to think that maybe the heat coming Pete’s way would deter his bloodlust, think again… In a recently televised cabinet meeting, Hegseth said they have no plans of stopping, “we've only just begun striking narco boats and putting narco terrorists at the bottom of the ocean…” I can’t wait for Pete’s trial at The Hague!
