At the last minute, Bari Weiss made the call to pull an episode of 60 Minutes from airing on CBS. This particular episode was about the Trump regime sending innocent people to CECOT, the labor camp prison in El Salvador. Unfortunately for Weiss, she waited too long to pull this move, so the 60 Minutes episode had already gone out to CBS partners in Canada. Oops!
Bari gave a number of asinine reasons for why she was pulling the story. In an internal memo, she claimed that this story has already been well covered and didn’t ‘advance’ it. Ah yes, because hearing from actual victims of this human rights violation isn’t advancing the story. She also went on to say she wanted to hear comment from the Trump regime regarding the reported conditions at CECOT. Of course, they ignored all requests for comment from 60 Minutes, Bari. But you knew that already, so it’s pretty obvious Weiss is just doing the bidding of the administration.
