What is currently happening to Cuba is the Gaza model, and the American military apparatus is a terrorist organization, just like the IDF. The U.S. is preventing all fuel from reaching the island nation, which they desperately need for survival. Trump and Rubio’s threats have even prevented humanitarian fuel missions from Mexico from reaching the island. What is this all for? At this point, it literally seems like it is solely to satisfy Marco Rubio’s regime change bloodlust against Cuba. He hasn’t been at all specific about what it would take to end the gas blockade. At this point it’s effectively a ransom situation not unlike what happened in Venezuela. But unlike Venezuela, Rubio will likely be unsatisfied is Miguel Diaz-Canel resigns. He’ll want the entire revolutionary government dismantled.
In another parallel to Gaza, humanitarians and activists are planning aid missions to Cuba to try and prevent the needless deaths caused by the U.S. Progressive International, CodePink, and the People’s Forum are planning flights, charters and a flotilla to get aid to Cubans. While the rest of the world lets these atrocities happen, it’s the people who have to rise to the occasion.
