Republicans clearly sees this new crop of progressives heading to congress as a threat, cause they know they’ll actually try and stop their agenda..
DSA backed candidates Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and Darializa Avila Chevalier all won their Democratic primaries. This is thanks, in no small part, to the backing of Mayor Zohran Mamdani and leftist political streamer Hasan Piker. So naturally, the right is losing their minds. They see that their controlled opposition in the centrist Democrats are getting ousted, which means they will have an actual opponent to face.
Sean Hannity took time on his Fox News show to talk about how radical leftist Brad Lander ousted Dan Goldman from his congressional seat. Sean cried about how Goldman was banned from a NYC coffee shop for supporting Israel. The horror!
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson tried to scare everyone by reading off the DSA’s policy platform. That platform includes, “abolish the electoral college, replace the two party system with a multi-party democracy, expand the House of Representatives, implement proportional representation and ranked choice voting” Don’t threaten me with a good time, Mike! Is anyone other than elected Republicans afraid of these things?
