Thieves Steal France's Family Jewels Out of the Louvre!

In a lightning-fast 7-minute operation, four thieves used a truck-mounted basket lift to reach the Galerie d’Apollon, smashed through a window with power tools, and escaped with eight priceless pieces of royal jewelry—including items once worn by Empress Eugénie.

The heist took place in broad daylight while tourists were inside the museum, prompting a full shutdown and national embarrassment. One gem-encrusted crown was dropped during the escape and later recovered, but the rest of the treasures remain missing.
