Man with Jan. 6 warrant arrested near Obamas' house with weapons and explosive materials, per reports
"A man with a Jan. 6-related warrant was arrested after he was found armed with weapons and explosive materials in former President Barack Obama's neighborhood in Washington, D.C., multiple outlets are reporting.
News outlets identified the man as 37-year-old Taylor Taranto of Seattle, Washington. He was spotted by Secret Service within blocks of the Obamas' home, and fled after being chased. Secret Service apprehended him as he was running toward the Obamas' home.
After Taranto's arrest, D.C. police performed a sweep of his van, which was found nearby, where there were multiple weapons and materials to make an explosive device. A fully assembled explosive device was not found, two law enforcement officials told the Associated Press condition of anonymity."
