"Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., on Wednesday blasted the Republican Party during floor arguments as Congress debated moving forward with formalizing the impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, calling it a "continuation of the [Jan. 6, 2021] insurrection."
“This gang has never accepted Joe Biden as the president. And the architect of the idea you can overturn the election is the current speaker of the House. And then Donald Trump sent that violent mob here," Swalwell said during his remarks. "It didn’t work and so now, we’re here, where they’re going to try and use this House to overturn the election through this inquiry.”
Swalwell accused the GOP of having "zero evidence" to show that President Biden acted illegally in relation to his son, Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings."
