Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She Threatened Mike Johnson with a Motion Calling for His Ouster If He Doesn’t Meet Her Demands
"Hardline Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told former Trump White House adviser Steve Bannon that she directly wanted Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) that she would move to “vacate the chair” if he did not meet her demands on the budget. Johnson has been at odds with the far-right flank of his conference over passing a budget that Senate Democrats will agree to.
“Tell me about Johnson sitting there and saying, hey, you guys are all in agreement. You were all singing Kumbaya. There’s no controversy about the top-line deal, the Schumer deal,” Bannon said Friday, after Johnson told reporters he was sticking with a $1.66 trillion deal to keep the government funded.
“I’ve had 10 people tell me that’s not true. Just help me out. Give me a minute on that. Where we stand with Johnson, at least tell everybody he had hard-fought negotiations and MTG supports him?” Bannon asked in jest."
