President Joe Biden endorsed his vice president to replace him on top of the ticket after he withdrew his reelection bid on Sunday, following weeks of mounting pressure from within his own party.
Harris is now the front-runner, having secured endorsements from a majority of elected Democrats.
Several polls taken before Biden dropped out show Harris losing to Trump in almost every matchup in eight key swing states. Biden was also largely trailing Trump in polls in these states."
