Mike Johnson Gives Conditional Answer When Asked If He’d Certify Kamala Harris Victory Over Trump
"Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) offered a conditional response when he was asked if he’d certify a win by Vice President Kamala Harris in November.
Former President Donald Trump has begun to lay the groundwork to deny the results of the election in the event that he’s defeated by the vice president. In a recent Truth Social post, he claimed the Democrats are trying to “get millions of votes from Americans living overseas.” He then went on to explain how this process is done “without any citizenship check or verification of identity.”
In the months leading up to the election, a number of Republicans have been asked if they’ll accept the results of the election. The questions are inspired by Trump’s repeated denial of the 2020 results and the Jan. 6 Capitol riot when protestors attempted to halt the certification process."
