"Lara Trump on Thursday defended her father-in-law, President Donald Trump, for blaming this week’s deadly plane crash in Washington in part on diversity initiatives, and signing a memorandum to end DEI programs in aviation in response.
But her critics are pointing out that she might not be the best person for the job of delivering that message.
Trump told Fox News host Laura Ingraham that her father-in-law’s memo says hirings should be based on “competence and merit and that’s it.”
She said diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives have “been a huge problem” and called them a “disservice to the public.”"
