Somers Farkas — a high-society fixture at tony galas like the Central Park Hat Lunch, who’s also a trustee of the New York City Police Foundation and an honorary FDNY battalion chief — is Trump’s pick for ambassador to the Republic of Malta, pending Senate approval.
Somers, married to Alexander’s department store heir Jonathan Farkas, served on the committee to choose Trump’s White House Fellows."
