"MAGA icon Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) just made her decision on whether she'll run in the Republican primary in next year's U.S. Senate race in the Peach State – and took a subtle shot at her fellow Republicans in the process.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday that Greene announced she was not running for U.S. Senate in the 2026 midterms in a lengthy post to her X account. The far-right firebrand referenced a report in which Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp — who has also said he won't run next year — was convening with Republican donors at an exclusive resort to decide who they want to unite behind in next year's GOP primary. And she also doubled down on denying that President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election.
"We all know how these elite retreats work," Greene wrote. "Many of the attendees hate Trump, backed [Florida Governor Ron] DeSantis, look down on MAGA, and refused to fight when our election was stolen in 2020. Now, they’re trying to carefully select someone who can dress up in MAGA just enough to trick the grassroots into thinking they’re one of us—someone who won’t dare challenge the Republican establishment or disrupt the status quo that has failed the people time and time again.""
