"Eight months into Donald Trump's second presidency, a small business-owning Georgia couple has begun to express doubts about their past trust in MAGA leaders. They say promises made during Trump's 2024 campaign have not been delivered upon, and their livelihoods have suffered the cost.
In interviews with The Washington Post, Jessie and Carter Meadows said their businesses have seen operating costs increase due to Trump's tariffs. Jessie has had to pay 17% more for a box of faux berries from China to use in her flower shop arrangements, and Carter's funeral home has faced a price surge for one of his suppliers."
