Gov. Greg Abbott says he'll impose a 100% tariff on New Yorkers amid Zohran Mamdani win
"Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is responding to election results in New York, where Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee, was announced the winner of the mayoral race in the Nov. 4 election.
Shortly after Mamdani's victory on Tuesday evening, Abbott posted on X that he was sending "thoughts and prayers" to New York City. "Join me for a moment of silence for NYC," Abbott wrote on X.
The post comes a day after Abbott said on Nov. 3 that he would "impose a 100% tariff on anyone moving to Texas from NYC" after polls closed."
