"California Gov. Gavin Newsom accused President Donald Trump's Department of Justice of unfairly targeting him and his family, as well as friends, associates and former employees, in order to prematurely punish him for considering a presidential bid in 2028.
"They have not found a crime — they are simply trying to find one," Newsom, 58, claimed in the caption of an X video post on Monday, June 15. "He isn't coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President. He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history."
Newsom went on to write, "We have nothing to hide. Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere. The country is watching.""
