"President Donald Trump said Wednesday he doesn't plan to hold anyone accountable for the bombing of a school full of Iranian children on the first day of the Iran war, expressing surprise at the reporter for even asking.
U.S. military investigators found that U.S. forces were likely responsible for the deadly bombing.
"It's such a strange question to be asked," Trump said, standing onstage with other Trump officials at the G7 summit in France, noting that the incident happened "a long time ago." (It happened at the end of February).
150 students died in the strike on the girls' school in southern Iran, the country's ambassador to the U.N. said.
Trump seemed to think the deadly bombing — which would be considered a war crime under international humanitarian law if it were deliberate — was OK because it was an accident."
