Louisiana will change congressional maps before midterms, governor says
"Louisiana will change its congressional maps before the 2026 midterm elections, top officials said Thursday, following a notable Supreme Court decision on a key portion of the Voting Rights Act.
“The State is currently enjoined from carrying out congressional elections under the current map. We are working together with the Legislature and the Secretary of State’s office to develop a path forward,” Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) and state Attorney General Liz Murrill said Thursday in a statement posted to the social platform X."
