Tamil Nadu MP Kanimozhi said the women’s rights conference being hosted by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Chennai on Saturday was meant for women to voice their concerns ahead of the general elections.
A host of women politicians from across the country, especially from the INDIA bloc will be participating in the conference. They include Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Supriya Sule, Mehbooba Mufti, Dimple Yadav, Sushmita Dev and Subashini Ali. This conference will discuss the issues women face today. The Union Government is still not worried about Manipur. Employment and safety for women has become a big question mark. Almost half the voters in India are women and still the Women’s Reservation Bill has only been brought as an eyewash. We will address all these matters”, said Kanimozhi.
