நீலமேகவர்ணம், அதிமுக அரசியல்வாதியான இவர் 2003 தமிழ்நாடு சட்டமன்ற இடைத்தேர்தலில் தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டம், சாத்தான்குளம் சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதியில் தன்னை எதிர்த்து போட்டியிட்ட இந்திய தேசிய காங்கிரசு கட்சியின் வேட்பாளர் ஏ. மகேந்திரனை 17,000 வாக்கு வித்தியாசத்தில் வென்றவர். தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடுவதற்கு முன்னர் நீலமேகவர்ணம் சாத்தான்குளம் ஊராட்சி ஒன்றிய அதிமுக செயலாளராக பணியாற்றியவர்.
2006 தமிழ்நாடு சட்டப்பேரவைத் தேர்தலின் போது சாத்தான்குளம் சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதி ஸ்ரீவைகுண்டம் சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதியாக மறுசீரமைக்கப்பட்டது. எனவே நீலமேகவர்ணத்திற்கு இத்தொகுதியில் மீண்டும் போட்டியிட வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கவில்லை.
எனவே தற்போது அரசியல் பணிகளுடன் வருவாய்க்கு ஆடு, மாடுகள் மேய்த்தல் மற்றும் கருப்பட்டி செய்வதற்கு பதநீர் காய்ச்சுதல் போன்ற பணிகள் செய்து வருகிறார்
