The Duran’s Alex Christoforou and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Mercouris examine a US federal grand jury announcement that 17 additional charges under the Espionage Act will be levied against WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange, who is currently in a UK jail awaiting an extradition hearing.
The new indictment relates to US documents WikiLeaks published in 2010. They allege that Julian Assange revealed the names of individuals who were working with the US government, thus endangering their lives. A maximum penalty of 10 years in prison on each charge could mean that Assange may spend the rest of his life in a US prison.
The attack on the US 1st Amendment even has MSNBC's Rachel Maddow suddenly supporting Julian Assange, the very man she helped smear and demonize for the last nine years.
