Formal education neglects teaching the science of propaganda and the operations of intelligence agencies. Our understanding of these topics primarily comes from fictionalized portrayals in movies, TV shows, and books, which serve to entertain rather than educate.
The tactics of propaganda, including targeted attacks through social media platforms, are often employed by adversarial intelligence agencies to manipulate and influence individuals.
This highly developed and evolving science is not unknown to our intelligence agencies, but public education on the subject is limited. Reports like the Mueller Report and the Senate report provide valuable insights, but they are often overlooked, and there is a lack of comprehensive congressional hearings to expose and explore these issues, leaving the American public with a limited education on the craft and science of propaganda employed by adversarial intelligence agencies like China and Russia.
