as posted by the channelOn today's What America's Thinking, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds voters are split on who they believe would do a better job at fighting crime, Donald Trump or Joe Biden, at 38% and 36%, respectively. New data also reveals about a third of voters are more worried about crime in their area since both the coronavirus pandemic and the protests. Hill Reporter, Brett Samuels explains the Trump's administration's decision to send in federal agents to U.S. cities. Sahar Aziz, Law Professor at Rutgers University, and Dr. Rashawn Ray, Sociology Professor at the University of Maryland and Fellow at the Brookings Institution, discuss public opinion on the issue. These surveys were conducted online within the United States from July 7-10 and July 17-20, 2020 among 2,829 and 2,841 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 1.84 and 1.9 percentage points. The results reflect a nationally representative sample of registered voters. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, income, political party, and education where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.
