7:56Now PlayingOn today's What America's Thinking, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds 53 percent of voters approve of President Trump on the economy and 54 percent approve of his handling of stimulating jobs, a roughly 5 percentage point drop from before the coronavirus pandemic grabbed hold of the country. Hill Reporter, Sylvan Lane, breaks down the new GDP and unemployment numbers while Republican pollster, Ed Goeas, and Sociologist and Brookings Institution Fellow, Dr. Rashawn Ray, join Hill TV to discuss President Trump and the economic state of the nation. This survey was conducted online within the United States from July 24-26, 2020 among 2,842 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 1.84 percentage points. The results reflect a nationally representative sample of registered voters. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, income, political party, and education where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.
