YouTube Description
as posted by the channelRep. John Rutherford (R-Fla.) told The Hill's Kevin Cirilli that lawmakers will avert a government shutdown ahead of the Nov. 17 deadline.
Rutherford said Republicans will press President Biden and the Democrats to strengthen border security, despite Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer saying such policies do not have the support in the Democratic-controlled upper chamber.
Elsewhere, Rutherford said that Republicans heading into 2024 should let states decide how best to respond to the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade on the issue of abortion. It comes following Ohio voters backing an amendment to the state's constitution that would legalize abortion in the state.
Rutherford said that Republicans should focus on the economy heading into 2024, as Democrats swept the legislature in Virginia. Rutherford - who backs former-President Donald Trump in 2024-- said that Trump is the strongest candidate to take on Biden in the upcoming presidential election, even as Trump sits out the Republican Presidential Debate.
Rutherford said that voters will be looking at international affairs, including the Hamas terror attack against Israel. Rutherford said he was not surprised that a bipartisan group of House members voted to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her comments against Israel.
