Reuters reports that he number of police killed in service has been high in recent years—193 in the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, making these the deadliest three years in two decades. Reuters adds that the FOP, which endorsed former President Trump in 2020, has not yet announced their support for a presidential candidate in 2024.
The president is scheduled to speak at 12 noon EDT.
