5:08:05Now PlayingAttorney General Merrick Garland will appear before the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday. Garland faced the threat of possible contempt of Congress after refusing to respond to earlier subpoenas from the Judiciary and Oversight committees.
The GOP-led committees accuse Garland of overseeing politically motivated prosecution investigations into alleged illegal actions by former President Trump. At the same time, members in the House Republican majority have accused the Department of Justice of failure to thoroughly investigate allegations of corruption involving President Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
The hearing is scheduled for 10 am EDT.
