According to Census data, Gen Z voted at a higher rate in 2022 than Millennials, Gen X, and even Boomers did in their generations’ first midterm elections. This trend is likely to continue come November as 16 million young Americans will be able to vote in their very first presidential election.
How Gen Z will vote is an entirely different question. What are the issues most important to America’s youngest voters? Do they feel represented in the electoral process? And just how bad is their growing criticism and distrust of elected officials today? And what are they looking for in public officials?
