YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhite House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will give remarks to the press Tuesday afternoon, as the southeastern U.S. recovers in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
President Biden announced Monday that he would visit North Carolina to view the damage firsthand, and ripped his GOP rival former President Trump for lying about his administration’s effort to respond to the storm. The exchange came as Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) expressed appreciation for the role the federal government has played in responding to Helene.
The briefing also comes as conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Lebanon continues to rage following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah over the weekend — and after Israel seemingly brushed off cease-fire negotiations led by the U.S. and France.
Biden held a call with Jewish leaders earlier Tuesday ahead of the Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur holidays.
Jean-Pierre is scheduled to speak at 1:30 p.m. EDT.
