Early voting began Thursday in the battleground state, as the western part of the state is still working to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Helene, which hit late last month. The state board of elections in response approved a slate of emergency measures that included tweaks to voting rules.
The Democratic vice presidential nominee held an event earlier Thursday in Durham alongside former President Clinton.
With the campaign now in the home stretch, The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's aggregate of polls shows former President Trump leading Harris by 1 point in the Tar Heel State — 48.9 percent to 47.9 percent.
Walz's remarks from Winston-Salem, N.C., are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. EDT.
