20:50Now PlayingVice President Harris is in North Carolina Wednesday afternoon, giving a final pitch to voters in the battleground state as Election Day inches closer.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, which devastated the critical swing state late last month, at least 20 percent said they were more likely to vote due to the storm, a new survey revealed. The same poll showed that at least 9 percent of likely voters were still undecided.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's polling index shows former President Trump leading Harris by 1.4 points in the Tar Heel State — 48.9 percent to 47.5 percent. In 2020, the state marked one of the closest Republican victories, with Trump edging out President Biden by just over 1 percent.
Trump will also be in North Carolina Wednesday afternoon.
The "Get Out the Vote" event in Raleigh, N.C., is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
