White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will brief reporters Tuesday afternoon.

The event comes a day before President-elect Trump and President Biden are set to meet at the White House. Biden has vowed to ensure a peaceful transfer of power in January after Trump was declared the winner of the White House race last week.

The visit is a return to a ritual that was paused after the 2020 election, following the president-elect’s unsubstantiated claims of election fraud.

Republicans also maintained control of the House and flipped the Senate, another major victory for the former president.

Trump, according to his team, said he was “looking forward” to the meeting.

The briefing is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. EST.
