YouTube Description
as posted by the channelWhite House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is set to brief reporters following the meeting between President Biden and President-elect Trump.
During the visit, Biden congratulated Trump for his victory, having once been his chief political opponent before dropping out of the 2024 race in July.
The meeting was meant to underscore the peaceful transition of power in America four years after Trump contested the results the 2020 election and broke tradition by not invited Biden to the White House.
It also marks a somewhat painful day for Biden, his staff and Democrats around the country, who saw the former president roll to a decisive victory over Vice President Harris last week — while the House retained its GOP majority and Republicans flipped the Senate.
Jean-Pierre will be joined by national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
The briefing is expected to begin at 1:30 p.m. EST.
