House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and other GOP leaders are holding a press conference Tuesday morning with just 10 days left until government funding is set to expire.

Members on both sides of the aisle are expecting the government to remain open past the Dec. 20 shutdown deadline. But, while negotiators have largely kept their colleagues guessing on how it will be achieved, both chambers seem hopeful for a stopgap that runs through next March.

Some Republicans, however, have expressed concern about taking up too much of President-elect Trump’s first months in office on finalizing fiscal 2025 spending bills.

Johnson is also facing another official Speakership vote in less than a month.

The presser is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
