as posted by the channel

Former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R), tapped by President-elect Trump to lead the Interior Department, will testify Thursday morning before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee in his first confirmation hearing.

Burgum will also serve as "energy czar," leading a newly formed "national energy council."

The former governor previously ran a long-shot presidential bid before dropping out and endorsing Trump. He was also floated on the vice presidential shortlist before former Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) was chosen.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EST.
